What Mini LED Actually Does

Thousands of smaller lights, not hundreds of big ones

A conventional LED TV lights the panel in large zones, so a bright object on a dark background spills a halo. Mini LED shrinks those zones dramatically, so star fields and end credits stay clean.

If most of your viewing is sport or daytime TV, you may never notice. If it’s films at night, it’s the single biggest upgrade in the range.

Neo QLED

The same backlight, with quantum dot colour on top

Neo QLED starts from the Mini LED backlight and adds a quantum dot layer, which holds colour saturation as brightness climbs. On a standard panel, the brightest parts of an image wash towards white; here they stay coloured.

It’s the range we recommend most often — bright enough for a sunlit room, controlled enough for a dark one.

OLED

Every pixel makes its own light — or none at all

There’s no backlight to control, because each pixel lights itself. Switch one off and it’s genuinely black, not dark grey. Contrast is effectively unlimited and there’s no halo anywhere.

The trade is beak brightness: in a room with a lot of daylight, a Neo QLED will punch harder. In a darkened room, nothing else comes close to OLED.

The Frame

A television that’s art when it’s off

The matte finish is the point — it scatters reflections the way a canvas does, so art mode doesn’t look like a screen showing through a photograph. Add the customizable bezel option and most people don’t register a TV at all.

Built on Neo QLED, you get the best picture possible and art when it’s off.

Vision AI

Most of what you watch isn’t 4K yet

Cable, satellite, older streaming services and DVDs all arrive well below the panel’s resolution. Samsung’s Vision AI processor rebuilds the missing detail frame by frame — which matters more day-to-day than the headline specs do.
